United Way creates opportunities for a better life for all, focusing on helping children to thrive, providing basic human needs, and p

romoting independence, and community wellness. We engage people, businesses, and organizations to bring the passion, expertise, and resources needed to get things done. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center which provides food to the local emergency food system, at no cost to those in need, and support 2-1-1 Connecticut for free information and referral 24/7. We are proud to announce that our Volunteer of the Year award has been presented to Bill Skeens! 🎉

Bill has long been a welcoming face at community events. Serving as a review panel member for allocations and a faithful volunteer at the monthly Groton and Stonington Mobile Food Pantries, as well as the Mobile in support of the Coast Guard, he joined our brand new Retire United group as a founding member and stepped up to be part of the leadership committee, volunteering at almost all Retire United events and activities, the Food Center, and Days of Caring.
