An amazing opportunity for friendship, opportunity and respite.

Don't forget to SOAR this June!

Summer is almost here, and our first respite date is around the corner!

The SOAR program stands for Social Opportunities and Respite. This is offered to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities aged 18 and up. All staff are DSP-trained and CPR & First Aid-certified. It is a fun time for the folks involved and a nice break for parents and caregivers.

Prepayment is required to secure spots. Payment may be made in cash or by check at our Windish location or by phone at 309-344-2600.

🚨 ROUND 2 STARTS TODAY! 🚨

Our 70 Days of Giving Food Drive is back in action as we continue celebrating 70 years of Thrive Community Services and 70 years of making a difference in our community!

The first collection period showed just how generous our community can be. Now it's time to build on that momentum and make this second wave even bigger.

From June 3 through June 25, we're collecting non-perishable food items at all Thrive locations:
📍 Hawthorne Center
📍 GBSC
📍 Farnham Street
📍 The Hub
📍 Abingdon

Every donation helps stock local blessing boxes and supports neighbors facing food insecurity right here in our community.

This isn't just a food drive. It's 70 years of compassion, community, and people helping people.

Let's celebrate this milestone the best way we know how; by showing up for others!

Who doesn't love bubbles?

Our friends in 12A took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent some time outside enjoying sunshine, fresh air, and plenty of bubbles! Sometimes the simplest activities bring the biggest smiles.

Days like these are a great reminder that fun, friendship, and a little sunshine can make for a perfect afternoon.

Our Farnham friends have been BUSY lately and making the most of every adventure!

Over the past few weeks, they've explored the fascinating Lock and Dam, enjoyed a beautiful day at Monmouth Park, and even took a trip to visit the birthplace of the legendary Wyatt Earp!

Whether it's discovering local history, enjoying the outdoors, or simply spending time together, these outings are all about building connections, creating memories, and experiencing new things throughout our community.

We can't wait to see where their next adventure takes them!

Sunshine, fresh air, and plenty of smiles made for a perfect day at Lincoln Park! ☀️

Our friends in 12B took advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoyed lunch outdoors, soaking up the sunshine and spending time together in one of Galesburg's favorite community spaces.

Sometimes it's the simple things; a picnic table, good friends, and a sunny day; that create the best memories. We're grateful for opportunities like these that encourage connection, community, and enjoying all the wonderful things our area has to offer.

Looks like summer is off to a pretty great start!

☀️ Sunshine for Seniors Month Has Officially Begun! ☀️

Today marks the start of a month dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and shining a light on the seniors who have helped shape our communities.

One of the highlights of the kickoff was welcoming representatives from VNA Community Services to our Farnham location, where participants and staff spent time coloring bright, beautiful sunshine decorations that will soon be displayed throughout our community and at supporting local businesses. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, create, and be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Throughout the month, you'll see these suns popping up around Knox County as a reminder that every senior deserves connection, dignity, and support.

Sunshine for Seniors will culminate with Rays & Graze on Saturday, June 27 — a day filled with food trucks, live music, family activities, vendors, and community fun, all benefiting local seniors.

Thank you to VNA Community Services for partnering with us on this meaningful initiative and to our participants for helping spread a little sunshine across Knox County.

The first wave of our 70th Anniversary Food Drive showed us something incredible:

Beginning June 3rd, we're launching the second chapter of our 70 Days of Giving Food Drive, and we're challenging Galesburg and the surrounding communities to help us make this our biggest collection yet.

For 70 years, Thrive Community Services has been blessed by the generosity of this community. As we celebrate our Platinum Anniversary, we're paying that kindness forward by helping stock Blessing Boxes throughout our area for neighbors who may need a helping hand.

Not sure what was brighter — the sunshine or the smiles! ☀️😊

Our CDS group had an absolutely wonderful trip out to Camp Big Sky, filled with laughter, fresh air, friendship, and so many unforgettable moments. It was extra special seeing participants from so many different Thrive Community Services locations across Galesburg come together for a day of fun, connection, and community.

A very special shoutout to our incredible nursing team for joining us and helping make the day even more meaningful. Your care, support, and dedication never go unnoticed, and we are so thankful for each of you!

Days like these are what Thrive is all about — creating opportunities, building memories, and empowering individuals to live their best lives.
