For this year’s Big Write contest, we asked participants to write as though they are submitting an essay to be included in the book Bite by Bite: Nourishments and Jamborees by Aimee Nezhukumatathil. Each of Nezhukumatathil’s essays centers on a food that evokes memories and feelings for the author. Our second place winner is Frannymar Aguilera! We invite you to enjoy her heartfelt essay and the memories they so vividly bring to life!
