🚧 GERMANIA STREET IMPROVEMENTS ARE UNDERWAY! 🚧

After a long process of planning, paperwork, funding, bidding, and probably a few gray hairs along the way… we are VERY excited to say that work is beginning soon on Germania Street! 🎉👏

Over the next little while, sections of Germania Street will be periodically CLOSED as crews begin the process of replacing the catch basins and completing the necessary prep work before paving.

🚗 Please keep in mind:
Watch for temporary road closures and construction signs.
Use alternate routes when possible.
Drive slowly and cautiously around crews and equipment.
Most importantly… please be patient! ❤️

We know temporary road closures can be inconvenient, but this is one of those “it’s going to get a little messy before it gets MUCH better” situations.

This project has been a long time coming, and we are SO excited to finally see it moving forward. Before we know it, Germania Street will have new catch basins and a fresh, smooth paved surface — and our vehicles, tires, and suspensions will all rejoice. 😂🙌

Thank you for your patience while we get through the construction phase. Smooth roads are coming, Galeton! 🥳🛣️

🎉 Happy Birthday, Vince! 🎂🚒🚑💪

If something heavy needs lifted, something needs fixed, someone needs a hand, or there’s just generally some kind of chaos happening in the Borough… chances are, Vince is already there. 😂

He may be known as the muscle of the Borough, but that’s only part of the story. Vince somehow finds time to volunteer with the fire department, help with the ambulance, lend a hand to Parks & Rec, and probably 47 other things we don’t even know about.

And that’s very much Vince’s style. He does a whole lot of good quietly — helping people, donating, pitching in, and making things happen without looking for any recognition. Half the time, you only find out about it by accident… which is unfortunate for him, because today we’re telling everybody. 😏

Vince, our Borough and our community are a better place because you’re in it. We appreciate the muscle, the laughs, the willingness to jump in wherever you’re needed, and especially the big heart you try to keep undercover. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Vince! We hope you get to spend at least ONE day not lifting, fixing, responding, volunteering, hauling, donating, or rescuing something.

…although we’re not taking bets on it. 😂🎉

Help us wish our favorite Borough muscle a very Happy Birthday! 🎂💪🚒🚑

🚨 FOUND: One Very Tiny T-Shirt 🚨

This toddler-sized S (6/7) T-shirt was turned in to our Lost & Found after National Night Out.

We aren’t judging. National Night Out was a good time. Things happen. People have fun. Apparently, shirts come off. 😂

If this belongs to your child—or you know the tiny party animal who went home one shirt lighter—please let us know so we can reunite it with its owner.

And honestly… we kind of want to meet the absolute legend who had so much fun they started losing clothing at a police event. 😂👕🚔

No questions asked.
Okay… maybe a few questions. 🤣

Past Due Water Bills – Amanda and Ellie are continuing to follow the borough ordinance and Pennsylvania Law, as well as working with customers, to ensure we are receiving payments for services rendered that allow the Authority to have a fully functioning water and sewer system. Tony Adami noted that April of 2025 showed a past due balance of approximately $62,000 and the July 2026 report showed $37,000. Traffic Signal Update!!

Our Chief of the Galeton Borough Police Department, Crewman, and Jack of All Trades will be working with a technician over the phone today to try to resolve the traffic signal issues.

If the problem cannot be fixed this afternoon or evening, a technician will be dispatched to make the necessary repairs as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we ask everyone to please remain patient and continue to obey the traffic signals, even if the wait is longer than usual. It is extremely dangerous to "sneak through" a red light. Doing so greatly increases the risk of accidents and puts pedestrians, other motorists, and yourself in danger.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to get the signal operating properly. Thank you for helping keep our community safe.

🚦 A Little Update on Our One and Only Red Light 🚦

Our annual traffic signal inspection and service was completed yesterday, and the light passed. We believe the timing is currently set according to state regulations and PennDOT standards; however, we know some drivers have noticed a difference when coming up red light hill.

We’ve contacted our traffic signal preventative maintenance company and are waiting for a return call to see whether the timing can be adjusted slightly while still meeting all requirements.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we look into it. Small-town life has its little inconveniences—but thankfully, we only have one red light to worry about! 😄

📢 Hydrant flushing has been postponed until Thursday for this week only. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
