🍎🍏Historic Skills Day🍏🍎
Saturday, September 26, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Dutch oven cooking is almost as popular today as when Lewis and Clark carried these heavy, cast iron pieces on their expedition. To the westward explorers, the usefulness of a Dutch oven was well worth the strain of lugging them on the journey.

Stop by our Dutch oven station this Saturday to learn just how versatile and easy-to-use they are! There will, of course, be delicious samples to enjoy!

🍎🍏Historic Skills Day🍏🍎
Saturday, September 26, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Did you know that c***r is mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest known piece of literature? Fermented fruit juices have been used by humans for thousands of years to avoid drinking unsafe water.

These days, a lot of us like to drink our apple c***r before it has a chance to ferment (pasteurization helps too). Come out to Historic Skills Day to taste your own c***r straight from the press! It doesn't get any fresher!

🍎🍏Historic Skills Day🍏🍎

Come out to the park on Saturday, September 26 to try your hand at using a crosscut saw along with several other traditional skills!

In the late 1800s, the region's lumber industry was booming and lumber camps were filled with workers known as woodhicks. They relied on this centuries-old tool for its traditional purpose: to cut through logs. Here in Pennsylvania, woodhicks found a new use for the crosscut saw and were the first to use it for felling trees.
