HCFR St. 24 - The ATL HCFR Sta. 24 responds to and handles all emergencies to include fires, rescues, and medical calls in the Aynor and Galivants Ferry area of Horry County.

RETIREMENT AFTER EIGHT YEARS OF SERVICE TO HORRY COUNTY!

This morning, Horry County Fire Rescue staff was joined by Horry County Police Department staff, Horry County Government leadership, colleagues, family and friends for a retirement ceremony for K-9 Crosby, an accelerant-detection dog utilized on fires for the last eight years.

Crosby is almost 11 years old, having started his career with investigator Capt. Rice in the Investigation Unit in 2018.

An essential tool in proving and disproving arson, Crosby has been on thousands of fire incidents during his time, and many more community risk reduction events than that.

He'll remain a member of the HCFR family as he takes it easy for the rest of his time in the Rice household.

Join us in wishing Crosby well, and thanking him for his dedication to Horry County over the years. He was presented with a plaque by Chief Tanner and meal—with many dog treats—at the M. L. Brown Public Safety Building in Conway.

WEEKLY CALL VOLUME REPORT/WE'RE HIRING

For the last seven 24-hour shifts, Horry County Fire Rescue crews ran an average of 231 dispatched calls per day, Monday through Monday. This brings HCFR to a total of more than 47,800 dispatched calls for 2026.

We stay busy, diligent, well trained and prepared to help the people we serve.

And, if you want to work for us, HCFR is currently hiring for certified Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/Paramedic positions, with NEW base* pay being $52,015 and $64,015 for each. Base pay does not include built-in overtime, holiday pay or yearly holiday gift—$1,250.

HCFR HIRING CERTIFIED FIRST RESPONDERS (WITH NEW BASE PAY!)

Horry County Fire Rescue is hiring pre-certified first responders who already hold a Firefighter 1 certificate AND current/valid National Registry or South Carolina EMT certificate for our open Firefighter/EMT positions. For those applying for open Firefighter/Paramedic positions, you must already hold a Firefighter 1 certificate AND National Registry Paramedic or South Carolina Paramedic certificate.

The NEW base pay for each, is $52,015 for Firefighter/EMT and $64,015 and Firefighter/Paramedic. This is base pay, and does not include built-in overtime, holidays or annual holiday gift—which is currently $1,250.

STRUCTURE FIRE - BEAU STREET

At 10:12 p.m., Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire incident on Beau Street in Conway.

This incident is under control.

A mobile home sustained heavy fire damage.

There are no reported injuries.

Six people will be displaced and offered assistance from American Red Cross of South Carolina.

The cause of this fire will be under investigation.

Horry County Police Department is assisting.

STRUCTURE FIRE - EVERGREEN DRIVE

At 10:54 a.m., Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire on Evergreen Drive in Galivants Ferry, with flames and smoke showing upon firefighter arrival.

This incident is under control.

A mobile home was destroyed by fire.

Critical injuries are reported.

The cause of this fire will be under investigation.

Horry County Police Department is assisting.
