We’ve talked about him in videos and we’ve posted about his trainings - but today, we’re so excited to introduce him to all of YOU!
Wyatt is no stranger to Sumner County, and this cycle, he’s joining us to coordinate volunteers, reach voters, and help us flip some seats.
Right now, Wyatt is meeting with candidates to set strategy and get the ball rolling, but once we have office hours set, we’ll share more! Wyatt Bassow is an upcoming senior at Sewanee: The University of the South. He majors in Politics while pursuing a minor in Southern Appalachian Studies. Wyatt began volunteering with a mayoral campaign in 2022, but following the shooting at the Covenant School, he took on an organizing role. He organized the march from Hume-Fogg High School to the capitol as a senior, assisted organizing efforts with March for Our Lives following the Tennessee Three expulsions, and wrote a protest Op-Ed for the Tennessean. His efforts landed him a role as a field organizer on the aforementioned mayoral campaign and later with a Nashville City Council campaign. Since then, he has worked in fundraising and communications with Triumph Strategies, served as field director for a state house race, and most recently worked on Rep. Aftyn Behn’s congressional campaign as a field manager. Wyatt says, “I am excited to work with the SCDP in the fight against authoritarianism and build on the passionate momentum brewing across our beautiful state!”
