⚾️ Hometown Heroes Softball Tournament 🇺🇸

Sumner EMS was proud to participate in the Hometown Heroes Softball Tournament, an event that brought first responders, community members, and supporters together for a great cause.

The tournament helped raise funds for the Spencer Bristol Memorial Scholarship, honoring Spencer’s memory while helping provide opportunities for future students.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make the tournament possible from the organizers who put in the time and effort to make the event happen, to the sponsors, supporters, players, volunteers, and everyone who came out to cheer us on. Your support makes events like this possible and shows what can happen when a community comes together for a meaningful cause.

At Sumner EMS, we’re honored to not only serve our community when the call comes in, but also to stand alongside our neighbors and support causes that make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Hometown Heroes Softball Tournament a success.⚾️❤️🇺🇸

Rutherford County EMS challenged us to the ALS Cold Water Challenge. So naturally we decided to change it up a little bit.

We hope that in doing this challenge that it will bring some awareness to this progressive nervous system disease, and the families it impacts.

Yall are up!!

Never Forget.

On September 11, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives that were taken, the families who were changed forever, and the countless heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

For those of us who serve our communities today, September 11 carries a special meaning. We remember the firefighters, paramedics, police officers, military members, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage and selflessness.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the bond we share as first responders — to serve, to protect, and to be there for others when they need us most.

Please join us in honoring their memory.

🧸🚑 Teddy Bear Clinic at Tristar Portland ER! 🚒🐾🚁

Yesterday, Sumner EMS had a great time joining the Touch-A-Truck event at Tristar Portland ER for their Teddy Bear Clinic!

Kids had the chance to get up close with a fire truck, ambulance, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office K9s, and even a special appearance from SkyLife! 🚑🚒🐕🚁

What made this event especially neat was the opportunity for kids to bring their new teddy bears through different parts of a healthcare visit. They got to see and experience what they might encounter during a real visit—all in a fun, friendly, and not-so-scary environment. 🧸❤️

Events like this are a wonderful way to help children become more comfortable with first responders and healthcare providers before they ever need us.

A huge THANK YOU to TriStar Portland ER for putting together such a great event and helping us continue building strong connections with the families and communities we serve.

🚌 BACK TO SCHOOL. SLOW DOWN. PAY ATTENTION.

The school buses are back on the roads tomorrow, and so are our kids. That means all of us have a responsibility to make sure they get to school — and back home — safely.

🚨 SEE THE RED LIGHTS? STOP.

When a school bus has its red lights flashing and the stop sign extended, you must stop. Do not try to sneak around the bus. Do not assume the children have already crossed. And never pass a stopped school bus just because you’re in a hurry.

That few seconds you save could never be worth the consequences.

👀 Watch the bus. Watch the road. Watch for kids.

Children may be crossing the street, walking alongside the road, or moving toward the bus from an unexpected direction. Slow down and give school buses plenty of room.

And parents — remind your kids:
• Stay in a safe place while waiting for the bus.
• Stay away from the roadway.
• Wait until the bus has completely stopped before approaching.
• Look both ways before crossing.
• Never assume a driver sees you.

One stop. One decision. One child’s life.

As another school year begins, let’s make sure everyone makes it home safely.

🚌❤️ Sumner County EMS asks you: Please Stop for the Bus.
