πŸ’œ June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month πŸ’œ

More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease, and millions of family members and friends provide care and support every day. This month, we honor those affected by Alzheimer's, remember those we've lost, and raise awareness about the importance of brain health.

🧠 Know the warning signs.
🧠 Stay physically and mentally active.
🧠 Support caregivers and families.
🧠 Help advance research and awareness.

By learning more and sharing information, we can work together toward a future without Alzheimer's disease.

Join us in wearing purple this month and showing your support for the Alzheimer's community. πŸ’œ

🌎 Happy World Environmental Day! 🌿

Today, we would like to recognize the importance of protecting our environment and promoting healthier communities for generations to come.

We also want to give a huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to our Environmentalist, C**t Bohannon, for the incredible work he does every single day. Covering not just one county, but THREE counties in NW Missouri keeps him busy and pulled in every direction- yet he continues to handle it all with professionalism, dedication, and a positive attitude. πŸ‘

A lot of the work he does often goes unnoticed, but it plays a major role in keeping our communities safe and healthy. From sewer permits and regulations to inspections, environmental safety, public health education, and responding to concerns throughout the counties he serves, his work behind the scenes truly matters every day. 🌱

Thank you, C**t, for all you do for Daviess, Grundy and Harrison County. Your hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed! πŸ’š

🌑️πŸ”₯ Can You Spot the Difference? Heat Exhaustion vs. Heat Stroke πŸ”₯🌑️

Summer is here, and so is the Missouri heat! β˜€οΈ
Whether you're mowing the lawn, working outside, heading to the ball field, or enjoying the lake, it's important to know when the heat becomes dangerous.

πŸ₯΅ HEAT EXHAUSTION
Watch for:
βœ… Heavy sweating
βœ… Dizziness or headache
βœ… Weakness or fatigue
βœ… Nausea
βœ… Cool, pale, clammy skin

πŸ‘‰ Move to a cool place, sip water, and rest.

🚨 HEAT STROKE β€” A MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Watch for:
❌ Body temperature of 103°F or higher
❌ Confusion or unusual behavior
❌ Hot, red skin
❌ Loss of consciousness

☎️ Call 911 immediately if someone shows signs of heat stroke.

πŸ’§ Stay Safe in the Heat:
βœ”οΈ Drink water regularlyβ€”even if you're not thirsty
βœ”οΈ Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning
βœ”οΈ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
βœ”οΈ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day (10 a.m.–4 p.m.)
βœ”οΈ Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle

🐢 Fun fact: On an 85°F day, the temperature inside a parked car can reach over 100°F in just 10 minutes!

πŸ’¬ Tell us: What's your favorite way to stay cool during the summer?
