Dailey Docs and Signing would like to share a more personal story,PSA if you will. I have always provided each of my kids code words that they could use in a situation where they felt they could not use regular language or just to alert me that they were in an unsafe environment. Yesterday while shopping locally my daughter runs up to me and uses her word. I look around and see a ma who is not shopping who was standing outside when we came in. She an I were just at opposite ends of the same aisle. I am very proud of my daughter for being self aware of her surroundings and using her code word. We immediately checked out and left. I’m not sure the guy had bad intentions. But it was enough to freak both of us out and I don’t scare too easily and my daughter loves everyone. We all want to give our kids a little freedom and we think they are safe in a store in the town you live in, but after today I know she and I will always have our eyes more open and take more precautions.
