The City of Gallatin Fire-Rescue Department is committed to the preservation and protection of life, property, and environment from the adverse effects of fire, medical emergencies, and hazardous conditions through sustained training, progressive education, and constant diligence to provide the highest level of customer service possible. Ethical values will remain the core of every decision made b

y each member of the Department. The Gallatin Fire Department has four stations to protect more than 42,000 residents as well as commercial, professional and industrial properties spread across 32 square miles in Sumner County. With 90 line personnel (3 shifts of 30 firefighters each). Counting the front office personnel, there are even more. The city maintains an ISO 2/2x Public Protection Classification, which ranks the city among the top fire departments across the state. That ISO designation also helps to keep insurance costs low for property owners. The fire department responds to more than 6,400 calls a year. Firefighters also provide fire safety instruction to the public and several local schools and daycares.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July with family, friends, and community gatherings, the Gallatin Fire Department would like to wish everyone a happy, safe, and enjoyable Independence Day!

If fireworks are part of your celebration, please remember to use them responsibly:

🔥 Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
🔥 Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
🔥 Never relight malfunctioning fireworks.
🔥 Maintain a safe distance from people, homes, vehicles, and dry grass.
