Family Connects Ohio offers support to newborns and their mamas by sending a registered nurse into the home during the first few weeks following delivery. During the visit the nurse will examine the baby, chat with mom about feeding, sleeping, emotional well-being and offer suggestions as well as any necessary referrals.

We’re looking for parents, grandparents, caregivers, and family members who would like to get involved, connect with other families, and help make special memories for our students throughout the school year!

Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 9 at 1:00 p.m., with committee members welcome to arrive beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Welcome to the GCBDD Team, Kelsey Johnson!

Please join us in welcoming Kelsey Johnson to the Gallia County Board of Developmental Disabilities as one of our newest Service and Support Administrator (SSA)! 🎉

Kelsey joins GCBDD from APG Polytech, but she is no stranger to the DD system. She previously worked as an SSA with Meigs County Board of Developmental Disabilities, bringing valuable experience and knowledge to her new role.

Kelsey holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). She is excited to begin this new chapter and shared that she “can’t wait to start this new chapter with GCBDD!”

We’re excited to have Kelsey join our team and look forward to the experience, compassion, and dedication she will bring to the individuals and families we serve.

Basket Raffle Donations Needed!

As we kick off a new school year, we’re beginning to collect donations for our basket raffle that will be raffled off during our Christmas Program in December!

All proceeds will go directly back to supporting our students throughout the school year.

Donations will be accepted through October 31st. Please see the flyer for donation ideas and more details.

Welcome to the GCBDD Team, Bailey Barnett!

Please join us in welcoming Bailey Barnett to the Gallia County Board of Developmental Disabilities! 🎉Bailey is joining GCBDD as one of our newest Service and Support Administrators (SSA)!

Bailey joins GCBDD after working with the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies and is excited to begin this new chapter with our team.

Bailey shared that she is “so thankful for this opportunity and to meet new people!” We’re excited to welcome her to GCBDD and look forward to seeing all that she will bring to our team and the individuals and families we serve.
