*GRAND REOPENING* of the Tunnels Park Museum will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026!

We will be open from noon to 4PM! Purchase your commemorative 250 USA Anniversary ornament. The ornaments are $25 and only a limited 250 ornaments will be sold!

As we prepare for Big Boy's venture through Gallitzin's Portage Tunnel on Saturday, July 11th, between 9:30 and 10:30 AM, we want to make sure all are aware of some traffic and road closure information that will be in place on SATURDAY, JULY 11.

* Portage Street will be closed from the top to the bottom, including all side roads coming into Portage Street.
*Railroad Street from Main Street down to Chestnut Street will be taped off to avoid parking and standing too close to the tracks.
*Jackson Street will be closed from Church to Chestnut Street across the bridge.
*Convent Street from Hemlock down to Jackson Street will be closed.

We welcome all visitors to Gallitzin for this special happening! We are proud of our town and know you'll meet friendly folks here.

Remember to adhere to the "Stay Alive, Stay 25" rule and remain 25 feet from all railroad tracks. Railroad property is strictly off-limits. Be safe, courteous of those around you, and enjoy the moment!

It was a great day of community— and we are proud of that small town community!

Unfortunately, the weather isn’t cooperating tonight and it doesn’t look safe for our fireworks crew.
We have made the decision to postpone the fireworks until next Saturday, July 11, at dark (weather permitting).
