Today Ms. Grudko & Mrs. Lopez’s class combined STEM and math and allowed the students to design their very own paper airplanes! ✈️📊 Students explored different throwing methods and even discussed how things like wind can affect flight. Each student tested their airplane by throwing it, and together we collected and analyzed the data. While we were outside testing, we even spotted a HUGE airplane flying overhead, which made the experience even more exciting! ✈️☁️

We organized our results into a tally chart and discussed which airplanes traveled the farthest. After an exciting competition, Richard was our clear champion! 🏆✈️ We are officially crowning him “Richard the Rocket Launcher!” 🚀

Mrs. Lopez & Ms. Grudko’s class made a core memory today! 💙✨🚀

When these two wonderful ladies told their teachers how much they admired astronaut Christina Hammock Koch, they were surprised to learn that one of their teachers actually grew up with her husband! After some back-and-forth messages, they had the amazing opportunity to send letters to their hero.

Today, they were beyond excited to receive SIGNED pictures from Christina, personally addressed to them! 🌟 What a special reminder that dreams can feel a little closer than we think. Having inspiring idols and positive role models can encourage our students to dream big, work hard, and believe that they can achieve incredible things too. The sky isn’t the limit — it’s just the beginning! 🚀⭐

🏕️✨ What an incredible final Camp Day in Ms. Grudko & Mrs. Lopez’s 2nd grade class! Our campers walked into a magical campsite under the stars, where each desk had been transformed into its very own tent complete with cozy campfires and a day packed full of adventure and fun! 🌟🔥⛺

Throughout the week, we became explorers, writers, mathematicians, and storytellers! Campers searched with flashlights for spelling and vocabulary words 🔦, created and wrote about their own constellations 🌙⭐, built creations with marshmallows and toothpicks 🍡, practiced exciting camp-themed math activities 🎲📊, wrote “how-to” pieces for making yummy s’mores 🍫🔥, and shared so many laughs and memories together! ✏️📚

Sometimes teaching is about so much more than lessons and worksheets — it’s about creating moments, building connections, and making memories that will last a lifetime. ❤️✨ This week was filled with teamwork, creativity, kindness, and so much camp spirit. We are so proud of our amazing campers for bringing their enthusiasm and positive energy each day! Camp Glopez was definitely one for the memory books! 🏕️🌟💕

Today was an exciting camp day in Ms. Grudko & Mrs. Lopez’s 2nd grade class as we explored the stars and the night sky! ⭐🌙✨ We learned all about what stars are, how the North Star helps guide people, who created constellations and why, why stars seem to disappear during the day, and why people living in cities don’t see as many stars as those living in the country. 🌌🔭

Our campers had so much fun creating their own constellation stargazers and using marshmallows and toothpicks to build their very own constellations! ⭐☁️ They then used their imaginations to write the stories behind their special constellations. We loved seeing their creativity shine as bright as the stars! 🌟💫

Today Ms. Grudko & Mrs. Lopez’s 2nd grade class became authors during our “How-To” writing lesson as we learned how to make yummy s’mores! 🍫🔥 Students worked hard sequencing the steps, using transition words, and sharing all the important details from start to finish. We had so much fun becoming expert writers and thinking about this delicious treat! Great job, campers! 🏕️✨🍪

Our 5th graders had an unforgettable experience getting up close and personal with some adorable furry friends from Out of Sight Alpacas! 🦙 The students loved learning all about the alpacas and spending time with these amazing animals.
