🔥Rock Fire Final Update | August 13 🔥

The Rock Fire is now fully contained. Engine crews secured the perimeter and put out remaining hot spots. Smoke remains in heavy fuel areas but will fade gradually.

All safety measures are in place for public and firefighter protection. Report any wildfire signs to local authorities. This is the final update on the Rock Fire.

🔥Rock Fire Update | August 12🔥

As of 5:00 PM today, the Rock Fire is contained at 80%. Fire crews are working diligently to secure the fire lines and cool down hot spots. Light precipitation is expected, which will assist in their efforts. Engine crews made strong progress thanks to last night’s high humidity and light rainfall, helping to slow the fire’s spread.
The fire perimeter increased by one acre, but full containment is anticipated very soon. Although smoke remains visible, this is due to heavy fuels in the area, and it will take longer for these materials to completely burn out.

🔥 Rock Fire Update | Aug. 11 🔥

A lightning-caused wildfire was reported at approximately 2 p.m. today west of Sheep Springs, NM, and east of Narbona Pass, Chucka Mountains

The Rock Fire is approximately 1 acre. Two engines are on scene and firefighters are making steady progress containing the fire.
Light smoke may be visible this evening. Please stay clear of the affected area to support firefighter safety and allow crews to respond effectively. All precautions are being taken to protect the public and firefighters.

If you spot a wildfire nearby, contact your local law enforcement or fire department.

N Tsaile Butte Fire Update

Location: In the vicinity of Tsaile Butte, Tsaile, AZ
Start date: Wednesday, May 27, 2026
Acres: 0.5 acres
Cause: Lightning
Containment: 100% contained

Wildfire description
Firefighters made significant progress on the fire today and have reached 100% containment. The Navajo Hotshot Crew spent the day constructing and improving handline along the perimeter while working closely with the helicopter. The helicopter completed essential work by cooling hotspots along the fire’s edge and within the interior of the fire where isolated pockets of heat and flame remained.

The Navajo Hotshot Crew will remain on scene overnight. Tomorrow, a small module of firefighters, along with the helicopter, will continue securing the fire’s interior and extinguishing remaining hotspots. Community members may continue to see smoke from the fire area as crews work to secure deep-burning interior heat. Smoke does not necessarily indicate fire growth, but rather ongoing suppression and mop-up operations.

This will be the last update for the fire unless there are any significant changes.

Evacuations and closures
There are no closures or evacuations at this time.

Smoke impacts
Light smoke may be visible in the immediate area.

Remarks
Community members may continue to see helicopter activity in the area tomorrow. To help ensure safe and efficient operations, please avoid gathering near the helicopter dip site and give aviation resources plenty of space to work.

This notice is to inform local and adjoining residents, law enforcement agencies, fire departments and local chapters.
