Broken promises. No surprises here.
They promised us showers if they could charge for parking.
Well, they got their paid parking. And we got .... 4 showers for 7 miles of beach. C'mon! Those showers don't even work half the time. And, they've had 13 years! It's not like we are asking for a toilet with a bidet. How gross would that be? But, I digress.
It's not right. We lure tourists to our beaches and then provide them ZERO way to rinse off before they start their trek back home. Everyone knows, when salt water dries, it makes you all itchy. And the sand you track into your car - it's IMPOSSIBLE to vacuum out. So, tourists leave with a rash and a lower car resale value as a souvenir. Tsk, tsk.
We've sent men to the moon (allegedly,) sent manned submarines to the bottom of the Marianas Trench (or, at least I think we did,) and we've done a third equally impressive thing that I can't think of right now - and yet the Park Board/City can't pipe water to a Seawall shower? Marty McFly would not be impressed with this future.
What say you, good citizens of Galveston?
