𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥 𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗦𝗘𝗜𝗭𝗨𝗥𝗘, 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗦

In July 2026, 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁, Detective A. Espinosa, a member of the 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 (𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗖) 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲, and agents with the 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗙𝗕𝗜) – Texas City conducted a joint investigation into a cyber tip received from the national Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

On October 1, 2026. Members of the 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, in collaboration with the 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲,, executed a 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩 at a residence located in the 2000 block of Island Manor Lane, League City, Texas.

During the search, multiple electronic devices were seized for further forensic analysis. Detectives also located a significant quantity of various narcotics and fi****ms inside the residence. The 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 was notified and assisted with the continued investigation.

After obtaining a narcotics search warrant, members of the 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 conducted a further search of the residence and seized the following items:

𝟭𝟲 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗷𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗮

𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗖𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬

The 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 has added a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 to our fleet, purchased with asset forfeiture funds at no additional cost to Galveston County taxpayers.

The 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗞 provides our deputies with 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and capabilities during 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, including barricaded subjects, hostage situations, high-risk warrants, rescue operations, and natural disasters.

With its armored design and specialized attachments, the 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 from a protected position, 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀.

Beyond serving the 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, the 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗞 will also be a 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁, providing additional tactical and rescue capabilities to 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱. This resource strengthens our ability to work together during critical incidents and provide a coordinated response when lives are at risk.

This investment represents our continued commitment to protecting lives, 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, and providing our personnel with the tools necessary to safely resolve critical incidents.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻

On September 29, 2026, the 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗚𝗖𝗦𝗢) 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 responded to a residence in the 4800 block of 14th Street in Bacliff, Texas, in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg. Deputies immediately provided life-saving measures until the victim could be transported to HCA Clear Lake Hospital for further treatment. The GCSO 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 (MCU) was requested to respond to the scene and take over the investigation.

During the investigation, MCU detectives conducted multiple witness interviews, which led to the identification of 𝟭𝟵-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗼 as the shooter. Witnesses advised detectives that 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗼 fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

GCSO deputies subsequently located 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗼 as he was leaving the residence of a known associate. He was detained pending further investigation. During an interview with MCU detectives, 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗼 ultimately confessed to shooting the victim.

The information gathered during the investigation was presented to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, which approved a charge of 𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻 against 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗼. His bond was set at $75,000.

The 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 would like to recognize the patrol shift on duty for their outstanding response and work on this incident. Special recognition goes to 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗝. 𝗕𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘆, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗙. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗗. 𝗕𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗔. 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗹𝗯𝗮, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗗. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗔. 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵 for their professionalism, quick response, and dedication to protecting the community.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce a new partnership with 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 (𝗖𝗢𝗠) to launch the 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆, designed to expand law enforcement training opportunities and strengthen public safety throughout our region.

Beginning in 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳, the academy will be hosted at College of the Mainland, combining county-wide law enforcement expertise with COM’s academic resources and state-of-the-art training facilities to prepare the next generation of Texas peace officers. The𝗧𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗘-𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 will offer a one-semester, 21-credit-hour program featuring classroom instruction and hands-on training from experienced law enforcement professionals.

We will bring together 𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁-𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆to provide cadets with 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀.

Upon successful completion of the basic peace officer course, graduates will earn a 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲, with opportunities to continue their education in criminal justice. Sometimes you have to take a break from keeping everyone in line and have a little fun! 😄

Corporal Bjerke knows that being a Safe Schools Deputy is about more than keeping our schools safe. It’s about getting to know the kids, having fun with them, and building relationships along the way.

It may just look like a little fun, but these moments matter. They give our students a chance to get to know the person behind the badge and help build the trust that makes them comfortable talking to our deputies when they need them.

We’re proud of Corporal Bjerke and all of our Safe Schools Deputies for keeping our kids safe while also making sure they know they have someone at school they can count on. 💙👮‍♂️

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Galveston County Citizen Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association recently had the opportunity to recognize several very special supporters of our Mounted Patrol Division.

As a small token of our appreciation, plaques were presented to:

Through their generous support of our Mounted Patrol Sponsorship Program, these sponsors have helped our Mounted Patrol Division grow by leaps and bounds and expand its ability to serve the citizens of Galveston County.

Our Mounted Patrol is much more than a highly visible presence in the community. The unit plays an important role in community patrols, crowd management, ceremonial events, public demonstrations, community outreach, and critical search and rescue operations. Our horses and deputies also provide a unique opportunity to connect with citizens of all ages while representing the professionalism, service, and approachability of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Galveston County Citizen Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association. Their members were instrumental in bringing everyone together and helping make the Mounted Patrol Sponsorship Program a success.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Galveston County Commissioner Joe Giusti, Precinct 2, for his continued support of the Sheriff’s Office, our Mounted Patrol Division, and the programs that help us better serve our community.
