Teens face pressures every day—from school and friendships to social media, fitting in, and planning for the future. During this vulnerable stage, it’s important for young people and the adults who care about them to understand the warning signs of grooming and unhealthy relationships.
Grooming can happen gradually and may look like attention, friendship, gifts, secrecy, manipulation, or someone working to gain a teen’s trust and isolate them from people who care about them.
💜 Knowledge is prevention. Talk with teens about healthy boundaries, trusted adults, online safety, and the importance of speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.
At the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County, we believe prevention starts with education, awareness, and conversations that empower young people to recognize unsafe behaviors and seek help.
