Some incredible views from the water this past weekend as members of the Port of Galveston Police Department had the privilege of being out on our police boat as the historic 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA made her way home to Galveston! 💙🚔⚓

There’s something pretty special about seeing a piece of Galveston history sailing back into the harbor—especially from this view!

Our officers were proud to be on the water helping welcome ELISSA home and captured some amazing pictures along the way.

Just another day with one of the best views in law enforcement! 💙⚓

Last week, the Port of Galveston Police Department had the distinct honor of promoting two outstanding detectives to the rank of Sergeant.

This week marks a historic milestone for the Port of Galveston Police Department.

Chief Kenneth Brown had the honor of recognizing five officers to the rank of Corporal during a single ceremony—the largest group of Corporals recognized at one time in our department's history.

Congratulations to:

-Corporal Jacob Hopkins-Bleyle
-Corporal Philip Jones
-Corporal Detective Thomas Plew
-Corporal Kristin Vaccaro

These five officers now join the three Corporals who were promoted earlier this year, bringing the department's leadership team to eight dedicated Corporals proudly serving the Port of Galveston Police Department.

We are confident that each of you will continue to demonstrate outstanding professionalism, leadership, and dedication as you serve our department, the Port, and the community. We look forward to watching your knowledge, skills, and leadership continue to grow.

Today, we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer. It is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy each day were secured and protected by those who gave their lives in defense of others.

As you spend time with family and friends today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and sacrifice of our fallen heroes. Their service and devotion to this country will never be forgotten.
