Today, we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer. It is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy each day were secured and protected by those who gave their lives in defense of others.

As you spend time with family and friends today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and sacrifice of our fallen heroes. Their service and devotion to this country will never be forgotten.

From all of us at the Port of Galveston Police Department, we wish you a safe Memorial Day and extend our deepest gratitude to the families of those who gave everything for our freedom.

🎖️ A Standard of Leadership 🎖️
Please join us in congratulating Officer Ethan Moffitt on completing the Port of Galveston Police Department Leadership Academy and earning the recognition of Corporal.

Officer Moffitt has been with our department for just over three years, and in that time, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional growth and leadership development. This is his first law enforcement position, yet he has already set himself apart through his work ethic and dedication.

He has earned an associate’s degree from College of the Mainland and has accumulated an impressive 2,596 TCOLE training hours, reflecting a level of commitment to training and self-improvement that is rarely seen, even among much more experienced officers.

Officer Moffitt is an independent thinker who is not afraid to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and seek better ways to serve. His eagerness to grow, combined with his ability to think critically and lead from where he stands, exemplifies the type of leadership we are building within this department.

We congratulate Corporal Moffitt on this accomplishment and look forward to his continued leadership and service to the Port of Galveston community. 👏
