⚠️Attention McGuire-Dent members:

To cover upcoming staffing needs, all classes taught by Rodney and Amberly have been cancelled starting Monday 8/17 through Friday 8/24. This does not affect other instructors classes. Rodney and Amberly's classes will resume the following week on Monday 8/31/26.

Shield Park will temporarily close Monday, August 10, as environmental consultants conduct further assessments at the site.

The years-long project to transforms the park reached a major milestone in late June with the award of a $2 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA Brownfields cleanup grant will fund environmental cleanup activities, allowing the project to move into the next phase and bringing the community one step closer to a revitalized neighborhood park.

The park will be fenced off and closed until further notice.
