💙 Community Helping Community! 💙
What a wonderful morning of teamwork, generosity, and community spirit! The Lighthouse Charity Team was proud to join forces with the Galveston Police Department Blue Santa Program to pick up and transport an incredible donation of toys generously provided by the Diamond Wishes Foundation and purchased from Five Below. The toys are now safely stored at our Lighthouse facility until Blue Santa season! 🎄🎁
A heartfelt thank-you to Dalace Duvall, Jimmy Pockrus, and Jeff Kaler, whose support and coordination helped make today possible.
We’re also grateful to Jovan Harris and the Blue Santa team for their continued dedication to making Christmas brighter for children throughout our community.
And a big thank-you to our Lighthouse Charity Team volunteers who provided the trucks, trailers, and manpower to bring all of these toys safely back to our facility. Together, we’re helping make the holiday season brighter for local families! ❤️

🍝 A HUGE THANK YOU TO MARIO’S SEAWALL ITALIAN & PIZZERIA AND THE SMECCA FAMILY! 🍕

The Lighthouse Charity Team is incredibly grateful to Johnny, Joey, Anthony, Myles and Nicolas Smecca of Mario’s Seawall Italian & Pizzeria on 6th Street for stepping up in a BIG way for our Fill the Freezer Campaign!

Following the devastating food loss caused by our freezer failure, the Smecca family generously donated more than 65 CASES of proteins to help us begin restocking our freezers.

This extraordinary donation will help Lighthouse continue serving our community and ensure we are stocked and ready to respond when help is needed most.

The generosity we have seen from our Galveston community has been incredible, and the Smecca family is a shining example of what People Helping People is all about.

Johnny, Joey, Anthony, Myles and Nicolas—thank you for your tremendous generosity and your continued commitment to the Galveston community. You have made a tremendous difference! ❤️

A GREAT DAY WITH THE SEA AGGIES!

The Lighthouse Charity Team had a fantastic time participating in the Volunteer Fair at Texas A&M University at Galveston! 👍🏼

We had the opportunity to meet so many incredible students, share the mission of Lighthouse, and talk about the many ways they can make a difference right here in the Galveston County community.

And the best part? We recruited a great group of Sea Aggies who are ready to roll up their sleeves and volunteer with us! 🙌

From disaster relief to community events and serving our neighbors in need, there is always a place for an extra set of hands at Lighthouse. We are excited to welcome these students and give them opportunities to serve, connect, and become part of the Lighthouse family.

A huge THANK YOU to Texas A&M–Galveston for welcoming us and for encouraging your students to get involved in our community.

Celebrating the Life of Gary Steinbach Today
Please join the Lighthouse Charity Team today as we gather to celebrate the life of our dear friend and fellow volunteer, Gary Steinbach.

Memorial Service at 6:00 PM
There will be no regular Lighthouse Charity Team meeting today. Gary’s Celebration of Life will take the place of our Monday meeting.
Gary gave so much of himself to the Lighthouse and our community, and we hope you’ll join us to share memories, celebrate his life, and honor a very special member of our Lighthouse family.

Gary was a longtime volunteer and dedicated member of the Lighthouse Charity Team, giving many years of his time in service to others throughout Galveston County. He was also a member of the Hitchcock Chamber of Commerce and Saltgrass Cowboy Church and was a familiar friend to so many in our community.

Pastor Derrell Beck of Saltgrass Cowboy Church will officiate from 6:00–7:00 PM.
There will be no service at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. The entire Celebration of Life will be held at the Lighthouse Charity Team.
We invite our friends throughout Galveston County to come share memories and help us honor a man who spent so many years giving back to his community.

🌍❤️ Lighthouse Charity Team was honored to welcome six college students from Thailand to one of our recent Monday night meetings!

These young women are participating in a college work-study J-1 visa program here in Galveston while gaining valuable work experience and learning about American culture. A special thank you to James Henderson for introducing them to our Lighthouse family and for his continued generosity and support of our mission.

We enjoyed getting to know them, hearing about their educational journey, and sharing a meal together. They have already embraced our community with enthusiasm and kindness, and we’re excited that they’ll be preparing an authentic Thai dinner for Lighthouse Charity Team this September!

Please join us in giving them a warm Galveston welcome. We look forward to learning from them, sharing fellowship, and celebrating the friendships that bring our communities together. 🇹🇭🤝🇺🇸
