Folks, we lost another irreplaceable soul through the loss of Don Hersey. He exemplified friendship, kindness and leadership whenever he was called upon. His neighbors and friends alike easily spoke his praises as a kind and generous man. We may mourn his loss, but God has received a United States Marine (Guardian Angel) to man the gates of heaven.

Semper Fi, Don,

Respectfully,
Members, family and friends of the Town of Galway’s

🇺🇸 Friendly reminder from American Legion Post 1461 🇺🇸

As election season heats up, we’d like to remind everyone that political signs, banners, or campaign materials are not permitted on American Legion property.

The American Legion is a non-partisan organization dedicated to supporting veterans, service members, and their families—not political parties or candidates. Our charter and bylaws strictly prohibit political endorsements or the appearance of affiliation with any campaign.

To maintain our neutrality and respect our mission, any political signs placed on Legion property will be promptly removed.

Keeping our grounds free of political signage helps us remain a neutral, welcoming space for all who have served, regardless of political belief.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to honor our shared mission of service, unity, and respect for all veterans. 🇺🇸
