American flags should be at full staff today. The previous half-staff proclamation in honor of singer Dolly Parton expired at sunset on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Flags were returned to full staff as of Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

178 years ago, Jesse Harlin(g) died at the age of 26. The son of George & Ruth Harlin, married Priscilla Crawford Harlin. Born December 21, 1821 and died on September 1, 1848. Children: Jane Harlin (Reeves); William Harlin & Jesse H. Harlin. Spelled his name with a "g" on the end "Harling." Plat 1; Row 23; Number 10.

The style of this grave is common to those in Old Union Cemetery.
