Pacific Historic Parks - American Memorial Park

Pacific Historic Parks - American Memorial Park Cooperating association of the National Park Service at American Memorial Park on Saipan. A Chamorro latte stone is located near the park entrance.

American Memorial Park honors the American and Marianas people who gave their lives during the Marianas Campaign of World War II. The 133-acre park is a "living memorial" with beaches, sports fields, picnic areas, boat marinas, bike and walking paths, amphitheater, and a 30-acre wetland and mangrove forest. The park is also home to many WWII relics, including Japanese pillboxes, fuel storage tanks

and bunkers. The Court of Honor lists the more than 5,000 names of those who gave their lives during the Marianas Campaign. The memorial was dedicated in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Saipan. The US Flag and those of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard fly 24 hours a day. Entrance to the American Memorial Park Visitor Center is free. Visitors are invited to watch a short introductory movie on the history of the park and walkthrough the exhibit. The Pacific Historic Parks bookstore is located within the American Memorial Park Visitor Center.
