Here are some of the Tiny Art canvases from 2025. Is your canvas finished for this year’s Tiny Art show? The deadline for entries is this Saturday, August 29th.
The Tiny Art show Opening Night party will be Wednesday, Sept. 2nd from 5:00-7:00 pm. Snacks and beverages will be provided by the Friends of the Garberville Library. Be there or be square!

The Saturday morning Creative Space Art group from the Garberville Library just took Best in Show for their trash art piece entitled From the Storm Drain to the Sea. This 6 1/2 ft. tall sculpture was created entirely out of common trash found along our beaches and waterways. You’ll be able to see it in the library this upcoming week. You should also check out the current show in the Art Lobby of Josh Goldens linoleum prints and pick up your SoHum Tiny Art kit.

It’s August so come pick up your tiny canvas at the Garberville Library! Each person can get a 3”x3” canvas upon which you can paint, draw, construct, print, collage or decorate any way you would like. Turn it in by August 30 with the enclosed form in the SoHum Tiny Art bag. Opening night show will be Tuesday, Sept. 1st beginning at 5:00 where you can see all the artwork and artistic flair of the SoHum community. Pick up your canvas today!

The Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services will be hosting a presentation in the Garberville Library July 22,Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00. Come in to learn about fire and earthquake preparedness.

Wednesday, June 10th, 5:00 sharp, the Garberville Library will be showing The Birdcage starring Robin Williams and Nathan Lane. This comedy is rated R for some brief nudity. As usual, we will have free popcorn and goodies for attendees. Join us!

Galen Latsko of Emerald Technology has extended his Computer Help Lab through June. Every Wednesday evening from 5:00-6:00 he will be in the library to guide you through your laptop, tablet or cell phone glitches. Come on into the Garberville Library for one on one consultations.

New show in the Garberville Library Art Lobby. Our new featured artist is Alanna Pulsifer with her acrylic and watercolor paintings from nature. Come see the works of this talented young artist in our Lobby through the month of June.

The Garberville Library has an exceptional art show up in the Art Lobby this month. This is the work of local artist and optometrist, Chris Whitney. He has displayed photographs, watercolor paintings and poetry. Please come see this really outstanding show which will be up until the end of March and can be viewed Tuesday through Saturday during regular library hours.
