Today, our troop had the opportunity to sit down with Kansas Highway Patrol Colonel Smith for a command staff meeting.

Colonel Smith shared updates from across the agency, highlighted recent successes, and provided insight into the direction and priorities of the Kansas Highway Patrol moving forward.

These conversations are an important part of staying connected, aligned, and focused on the mission we all share. Serving the people of Kansas and keeping our communities safe.

We appreciate the Colonel and our command leadership taking the time to meet with us and provide leadership, perspective, and direction as we continue moving forward together. 🚔

When seconds matter…

Yesterday afternoon, Kansas Highway Patrol Troop E responded to a single vehicle injury-crash on U.S. Highway 50 near milepost 78 in eastern Finney County.

This vehicle was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 50 when the front driver side tire blew causing the vehicle to leave the road to the left and enter the median. The vehicle rolled several times and came to a stop on its roof.

Scenes like this from yesterday are a reminder of the critical role rural EMS, first responders, medical flight crews, and local healthcare providers play in our rural communities. From the highway to the hospital, these professionals work together to bring care where it’s needed, when it’s needed.

Yesterday’s response is more than an aircraft on a highway. It’s a community coming together when someone needs help.
