It was a pleasure and an honor to see the designation of Lee Seeman Way by the Village of Great Neck Plaza this past weekend! Town of North Hempstead - Government Councilwoman Lee Seeman has been my friend and mentor for the past few decades, and I wish her a happy and healthy retirement.
Thank you to the Village of Great Neck Plaza Board of Trustees for the lovely event.

I recently attended the dedication of the Howard S. Weitzman Memorial Conference Room at the Office of the Nassau County Comptroller and joined with former, current, and elected Nassau County Comptrollers as well as the Weitzman family and members of the Town of North Hempstead Board.
Howard was a good friend and a dedicated public servant. I’m so pleased that Comptroller Jack Schnirman invited me to this auspicious occasion.

It was wonderful to see Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts at the Legislature this week! We gave them a tour of the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building, taught them the history of Nassau County, and showed them how to be Legislators.
Members of Cub Scout Pack 178, Boy Scout Troop 10, and Girl Scout Troops 626, 612, and 633 debated the merits of banning homework (sadly, not an actual possibility in the Legislature) and passed a law 6 to 5 banning it and creating a Homework Committee.
Our future lawmakers were hard at work learning about the founding of the Legislature and the creation of this very important government. They all received certificates commending them for their effort.
I would like to thank all the Girl Scout and Cub Scout leaders that made this all possible, and I’m excited to welcome some more students next week!
