The Youth Services Team hosted three Summer Reading Club Parties on Thursday, August 13, one for preschoolers, one for teens, and one for children in Grades K-5!

The parties included cake, ice cream, pizza, games, crafts, a DJ, and dinosaur-themed giveaways!

Plus, the Youth Services Team announced this year's Summer Reading Club raffle winners at the parties!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Summer Reading Clubs for preschoolers, elementary kids, and teens and for attending the parties!

While we're sad summer is coming to a close, we hope to see you all at the Library this Fall for more fun programs!

Families gathered outside the Library during a special Butterfly Release event held last week on Library Grounds! 🦋🦋🦋

Children made butterfly crafts including butterfly puppets, masks, bracelets, and crowns before the butterflies were released.

Youth Services Librarians Miss Barbara, Miss Reggie, and Miss Laura helped families with crafts and showed the butterflies in their butterfly habitat.

Then, Miss Reggie released the butterflies for families to see. The Library grew the butterflies from caterpillars during the month of August.

Join us TOMORROW, Friday, August 28 at 3PM for Grades 3-5 Art with Miss Emily: The Drawing Game!

Children will play a game in which each participant takes turns writing or drawing on a sheet of paper, folding it to conceal his or her contribution, and then passing it to the next player for a further contribution.

Please register online with a Library card. Registration is online via LibCal at gardencitypl.libcal.com.

A separate registration is required for each child you wish to attend the program.

Kick off the weekend with Teen Clubhouse, which will be held TOMORROW, Friday, July 24 at 3:30PM at the Library!

You can game, build with LEGO, craft, or just hangout with friends!

We will have our Nintendo Switch consoles for teens to use as well as LEGO bricks, puzzles, board games, craft supplies from our Teen Makerspace and leftover crafts from previous programs.

Snacks and drinks will be served.

This program is for tweens and teens in Grades 6-12 only.
