National Fire News: March 20, 2026. The National Preparedness Level has increased to 2 (PL 2) as fire activity begins to expand across multiple geographic areas.

This step reflects a familiar seasonal shift. In both February and March, PL 2 has historically marked the point where activity becomes more coordinated at a national level, even if overall demand for resources remains manageable.

BOISE COUNTY PLEASE SIGN UP FOR ALERTSENSE NOTIFICATIONS to recieve emergency notifications.

Link Here: https://public.alertsense.com/signup/?regionid=1163

Signing up for emergency notifications is crucial for receiving timely, actionable information during crises—such as wildfires, floods, or police activity—which can save lives and allow for safer, faster evacuations. These systems provide targeted alerts to your phone for your specific location, ensuring you are informed even if you are not watching TV or listening to the radio.

Key Reasons to Sign Up for Emergency Alerts:
Immediate Life-Saving Information: Alerts provide critical, real-time details about imminent threats (e.g., severe weather, hazardous material releases) and instruct you on necessary actions, such as taking shelter or evacuating.

Geographically Targeted Alerts: Systems like Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) (automatic) and local Alertsense systems (via sign-up) send messages specific to your immediate area, making them highly relevant to your safety.

Safety Outside the Home: You receive alerts wherever you are, including when you are commuting, shopping, or in a new location.

Situational Awareness: They help you stay informed before, during, and after a disaster, allowing you to make quick decisions.

While some alerts are automatic (WEA), signing up for local, county-level alerts is recommended to ensure you receive community-specific notifications directly to your phone, email, or via text.
