The Claremont Fire is 6,817 acres and 74% contained.

The dozer line construction is progressing east of the Boise Ridge Road, outside the UXO area. Firefighters are working from two access points near the Boise Ridge Road that ties in an existing dozer line and a former logging road into the current fire’s footprint to the west. Once complete, this effort will provide a broader containment line and additional defense for the Robie Creek and Wilderness Ranch communities. They expect to connect the dozer line within the next two to three days. As the line is cleared, masticators are also being used to chip woody vegetation along the route, which supports the efforts to clear, widen and strengthen the dozer control line.

The Robie Creek community structure protection assessments are complete. A question and answer session for Robie Creek Residents was held last night. Incident management team members talked with residents about the Claremont fire structure protection assessment process and current fire status.

Road closures for 8th Street, Rocky Canyon, and Ridge Roads remains in effect. Firefighters are working on road improvement efforts along these routes focusing on grading and road repairs.

A line of thunderstorms passed over the fire area yesterday evening. Firefighters are available as needed to support initial attack on new fires in the local vicinity that may have developed from lightning strikes associated with the storm.

Closures:

The temporary closure to access BLM-managed lands, roads, and trails between 8th Street (aka: Hulls Gulch or Sunset), Rocky Canyon Road, and Boise Ridge Road will remain in effect until August 1, 2026. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the public, firefighters engaged in suppression operations, and post-fire stabilization and rehabilitation workers. This closure does not affect private land. The area will be monitored by BLM Law Enforcement personnel to ensure compliance with the closure.
