The City of Gardena Emergency Operation Center was activated for the Great American Shakeout and this is a short video concentrating on the EOC providing Situation Reports to the main radio net... In a real event this information would never be passed ouside of the EOC Digital Radio system into the real world....

The reason I post this video is to see if there are others in the Citys of Gardena, Lawndale, Hawthorne that find what we do admirable and want to consiter community disaster preparidness involvment with our orginization.

Our Digital Radio System is run on Motorola DMR and our orginization is not Amateur radio related. Our repeater is installed in a secure government location with massive battery backup and generators with knowledge that in a massave disaster this location would be one of first properties places to be get back up and running.

Gardena Disaster Communications Service supported the City of Gardena Emergency Operations Center for the Jazz Festival held at Rowley Park.

We had four teams patrolling at different times of the day and Staff 5 Wendy and myself Staff 1 (Gardena DCS) provided citywide radio communications for the event.

We had two operational channels, one for the teams and one encrypted chanel with a base station located in the Gardena PD IC Moble Command Vehicle.

Here is a short video with a photo slideshow from the event. Thanks to our EOC Coordinator Tim Tran for his expertise and leadership.

Thanks to Gardena DCS Staff 5 Wendy for going way out of her way to feed the team with high quality food. Thank you Wendy....
