Big THANK YOU to everyone that came out to our cleanup on Saturday and all those that helped make it possible!!! Earth Day is more than just picking up trash. It was a great opportunity to gather and discuss what sustainability means for Gardiner, Park County, and Yellowstone, and how we can all work together going forward.

Shout out to Bill Berg, Cam Sholly, Lynn Chan, and Johnathan Hettinger for speaking at the event as well as Bear Creek Council, Delaware North, Park County Environmental Council, Yellowstone Park Service Stations, Yellowstone National Park Lodges, and Yellowstone Forever for supporting this event.

More of our community members being awesome on Earth Day! And two reasons to celebrate makes it even better!

Congrats and thank you to Paul Anderson for his almost 39 years of planting trees throughout Yellowstone! He finished off his retirement planting a dogwood, river birch, and cottonwood outside the Mammoth Hotel today. The trees were grown at the park's Stephens Creek Nursery from cuttings taken from trees in Mammoth. Thank you to Sam Reid and Dan Busch as well for their help in growing and delivering these saplings!

We have such an awesome community!! Thank you so much Wendy for organizing this small but mighty clean up.

Happy Earth Day Gardiner!!

Earth Day celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and though we can't celebrate in person together, there are lots of ways to celebrate online and at home! Gardinians have already been seen picking up trash and sweeping the sidewalks this week so let's keep that momentum going today and everyday to keep our town and planet clean! We've listed some free online resources below and easy ways to get involved from home. Check them out and comment how you plan on celebrating Earth Day! 🌱🌎🌍🌏🌿

Free Online Events:
-earthday.org is hosting live events all day long for free
-The International Wildlife Film Festival has gone virtual this year and is running free films until April 25th found at http://wildlifefilms.org/
-The town of Red Lodge is hosting online events all week in honor of Earth Day. Check out their site earthweekredlodge.com

Easy Ways to be Earth Friendly at Home:
-Use single use items like plastic bottles and containers for crafts or reuse in the home.
-Create Earth Day related art and share with Earth Day Art 4 All virtual art show hosted by Climate Smart Missoula
-Pick up trash whenever you see it and recycle what you can.
-Cook a vegetarian or vegan meal today.
