One of the important purposes of a library is to assure that no one can erase our history just because it doesn't suit them. Today, we added two outstanding books about the Tuskagee Airmen -- one for kids, one for adults -- because their legacy came under fire from powers of ignorance. We also provided these and similar books to sister libraries in Shreveport and Jena. Stand strong for history, science and education in general. It's an American value.

BTW, we had a report of a bug issue. We cleared the library this morning, made the bugs disappear (were they bookworms? spelling bees?), and restocked the shelves. Enjoy!

I have just placed five signed copies of my new book, The Rap on Kisatchie Bigfoot, in our Little Free Library. First come, first serve. Please bring a book to put in the library in exchange.

The Rap on Kisatchie Bigfoot is a fun storybook that is best when an adult reads it to their young child. It is written in verse and illustrated with my photos from the Kisatchie National Forest.

The book -- and my song by the same name -- are available at my new online gift shop, kisatchiebigfoot.com, along with dozens of related products.
