Elect Monica Jacobs - Gardner Edgerton School Board - Position 4 November 2021 USD #231 School Board Election Hello! Welcome to my page! I would be HONORED to receive your vote on November 2nd.

I chose to live in Gardner over 20 years ago because of its' "small town feel" and the excellent school district. I now have a 25 and 21 yr old, both who graduated from the Gardner-Edgerton School District. I appreciate the great education both of my children received but in particular my daughter, who was fortunate to have received many special education opportunities. NOW is the time I want to g

ive back to the district and the community by representing position 4 of the school board. I have 3 primary goals if I am elected, #1 is to bring back to the district the quality special education program that my daughter has received but that has diminished in the last few years, #2 is to retain the very best of the faculty by investing in our teachers futures in the district and #3 is to work together WITH the city of Gardner to provide more opportunities to the community. I can accomplish these goals because I have learned first-hand how to be an advocator for children and will utilize these skills to advocate for our children and their teachers as well as work together as a team to achieve goals. Finally, my 25+ years of banking and finance provides an excellent history to assist the board in financial and/or budget decisions.

As we are closing in on the month, I want to thank all of those that supported me in the election. I truly appreciate it and enjoyed my “first run” in the political scene. Congrats to Lana Sutten, who will continue to represent zone 4!

I pre-voted today at New Century. From the time I parked until I was back in my car….less than 7 minutes!! Please Gardner, take that short amount of time to vote.

It was wierd to see my name on the ballot. I am the least likely to campaign/run for office. It just felt like the right time for me. I’ve always been a big believer in giving back, sometimes over committing for that reason, but this is right for me and I hope you give me the honor of representing zone 4 on the school board. I will be professional, transparent and educated in all matters!!

Hello! My name is Monica Jacobs. I have been a resident of Gardner for over 20+ years and chose to live in Gardner because of its' small town feel and its' excellent education system. Since that time I have raised 2 children who graduated from Gardner-Edgerton School District and am now at a place where I want to "give back" to the community and the school district. I have three primary goals if I were to be elected. The first is to bring back the excellent special education department that has diminished over the last few years. My daughter received so many wonderful opportunities as a result of the quality special education department that GE provided her and EVERY child deserves those same opportunities. The second is to improve the communication with the teachers and the administration in efforts to retain teachers. The third is to create a working relationship with the city and the schools in efforts to provide more opportunities to the students and the community. I learned first-hand how to advocate for my daughter with intellectual disabilities and will utilize those skills to advocate for all students and teachers, equally. One of the first skills in advocating successfully is to create a solid relationship and all three of my goals require a solid relationship. I also have 25+ years experience in banking and finance which will allow me to provide professional feedback in finance/budget decisions and to serve on these specialty committees. I would be honored to receive your vote on November 2nd.
