⛳ Ready to putt with purpose? ⛳

GAAMHA’s 2nd Annual Mini Open is coming up on Saturday, October 3rd at Hill City in Fitchburg, and we’re looking for teams and sponsors to join the fun!

This is not your average mini golf tournament. We’ll have games, fun challenges on the holes, friendly competition, and a Best Dressed Costume Contest — so bring your team spirit, your best outfit, and maybe your “questionable” putting skills.

Day-of check-in opens at 9:00 AM
Tournament starts at 10:00 AM
Teams of 4–6 players
$25 per player

Proceeds support GAAMHA’s Peer Recovery Centers, Alyssa’s Place and Ripple Effect, helping provide connection, community, and support for people in recovery.

Grab your friends, coworkers, family, or that one person who insists they’re “really good at mini golf,” and register your team today!

We are also still accepting sponsors! Sponsorship is a great way to support people in recovery while getting your business or organization involved in a fun community event.

20 weeks. 15 leadership disciplines. 151 models. And today, one final challenge.

Today marked the final day of GAAMHA’s Leadership Lab for our Program Directors.

Over the past 20 weeks, this group has studied everything from motivation, change and delegation to planning, communication, problem solving, decision making, evaluation and more.

But the goal was never to memorize 151 leadership models.

The goal was to build better leaders.

Leaders who can slow down and look at a situation through a different lens. Leaders who ask better questions before jumping to an answer. Leaders who can connect ideas, think beyond their own program, and make the right decision — including the hard ones.

So today, we put that learning to the test.

Each Program Director selected a model and stood in front of their peers to teach it. They had to demonstrate that they understood it, connect it to other leadership concepts, and — most importantly — show how it applies to the very real work they lead every day.

There were presentations. There were questions. There were some tough questions. And there was a whole lot of evidence that the work of the last 20 weeks stuck.

We talk a lot at GAAMHA about doing things differently when differently leads to something better. Our vision calls us to be unafraid to explore uncharted ways to better support the communities we serve.

That starts with investing in the people responsible for leading that work.

We’re incredibly proud of this group — not because they finished a course, but because of what they’ll do with what they learned.

Leadership Lab may be over. The real test starts now.

⛳️ Supporting a great tradition!

GAAMHA was proud to participate in the 81st Annual Robert Langlois Memorial Golf Tournament—and even more proud to serve as the Patio Sponsor!

It was a beautiful day on the course filled with great conversation, friendly competition, and an opportunity to connect with others in our community. We’re grateful to be part of an event that honors a lasting legacy while bringing people together.

Thank you to the Greater Gardner Chamber of Commerce for having us and to everyone who helped make the day a success! 💗⛳️

Some of the most important qualifications don't fit neatly on a résumé.

Can you listen without immediately judging?

Can you stay steady when somebody else is having a difficult day?

Can you encourage progress while still holding healthy expectations?

Can you treat every person you meet with dignity?

You may have the qualities we're looking for in a Recovery Specialist.

GAAMHA is currently recruiting Recovery Specialists in Athol to help support individuals working toward stability and lasting recovery.

This is entry-level human services work with very real human impact.

It takes empathy.
It takes boundaries.
It takes teamwork.
It takes patience.
And yes—it takes a sense of humor sometimes, too.

If you're looking for work that gives you a reason to care about what happens after you clock in, come learn more about us.

Fair warning: this probably isn't the job for someone who wants every day to look exactly the same. 😄

GAAMHA's Direct Support Professionals help people get out into their communities and build lives filled with greater independence, connection, skills, experiences, and choice.

One day might involve helping someone work toward an employment goal.

Another might mean volunteering, recreation, practicing a new life skill, heading into the community, or celebrating a milestone that somebody worked incredibly hard to reach.

The common thread?

You're helping create a meaningful day for another human being.

We're hiring DSPs in:

📍 Gardner
📍 Leominster

If you're compassionate, dependable, comfortable working with people, and looking for work with a purpose beyond a paycheck, we'd love for you to take a look.

Recovery is hard work. Supporting it is meaningful work.

GAAMHA is looking for Recovery Specialists in Athol to join the team at Sunrise Ridge.

Recovery Specialists help create the kind of environment where people can keep moving forward—one day, one decision, and sometimes one difficult moment at a time.

This work calls for people who can bring compassion and accountability. People who listen. People who don't judge. People who understand that dignity matters and that progress doesn't always happen in a straight line.

You don't have to have years of professional experience to begin making a difference.

You do have to care.

What if “going to work” meant helping someone have a really good day?

A trip into the community.
Learning a new skill.
Trying something independently for the first time.
Volunteering.
Making a connection.
Discovering something they love.

Those moments matter.

GAAMHA is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Community-Based Enrichment Services in Gardner and Leominster.

This is people-first work. You'll support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, relationships, skills, confidence—and meaningful days.

Experience in human services is great. But compassion, dependability, patience, and believing in people's potential matter an awful lot, too.
