My heart goes out to the residents of Aspen Place. While the city was put in an untenable position, the residents are in an even more desperate position.

Daneeka has done and amazing job of putting together available resources to help the residents. For information on this, the Gardner hotline number is 913-884-2700.

The regional office of DCF may provide assistance as well. That number is 913-826-7300.

The Kansas Housing Corporation is able to help with apartment/affordable housing. This is a link to their website:

I’ve reached out to the Attorney General’s Consumer Fraud division, and will keep you posted if anything develops there.

I’m amazed, not surprised, but amazed at the show of support from the Gardner community and surrounding areas. From food drives to hard times like this, Gardner citizens always go above and beyond what you’d expect to see anywhere else.
