Volunteers needed to help cleanup efforts following the tornado in Hillsdale, KS on April 15, 2026. Start time will be about 930AM on the 15th.

LERT Deployment, Wildfire Cleanup, Lutherhaven Retreat Center, Gate OK, 4-22 thru 25-2026

Important Note:
This will NOT be a typical chainsaw/storm-debris deployment.
There are many opportunities for LERT-trained volunteers who prefer non-chainsaw work.

Project Work Includes:
Cleaning bunkhouses (dirt, soot, and sand infiltration)
Replacing burned wooden steps up embankments with concrete
Sanding and painting metal handrails
Collecting and removing burned debris
General maintenance projects
Clearing brush around buildings and back roads
Power-washing and staining a bunkhouse
Dock and ramp repairs
Welding project (handrails)

LERT has a new group of individuals that completed the Basic Training. Welcome to those members of Trinity Lutheran in Atchison, KS. We also had one from St. Paul Lutheran church also.
