🚨** PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ** 🚨

There have been several “takeover” flyers and plans circulating through social media that involve locations in Garfield Heights. We want to be very clear regarding how gatherings like this will be handled. Anybody gathering at a takeover location will be given one warning, and one warning only, to leave the area. Failing to comply will result in arrest.

We promise you that we are aware of these events long before they take place. We have no shortage of Officers, K9’s, pepper balls, and jail space. There will be zero tolerance for any of these events in Garfield Heights. Should you doubt the seriousness of this message, we encourage you to review the posts on this account.

How can you help? Please share this message so that the young people in our area understand the consequences and make good decisions regarding these events. The best outcome is that nobody participates and everyone remains safe.

🎉🙏THANK YOU TO OUR RESIDENTS 🙏🎉

This dude loved to flee from police. Numerous times from multiple agencies, the last from our partners in Valley View. He thought he was in the clear until our fantastic residents called to report a suspicious vehicle with suspicious activity was in their neighborhood. We handled it from there. The driver is under arrest facing numerous felonies for weapons and fleeing, across several agencies.

God bless you all for being willing to partner with us, stand with us, and be our eyes and ears in our city. No technology can ever replace what you can offer us. We are forever grateful.

To those involved in this incident specifically… job well done, thank you!

Two more apprehensions this week. Both involved outside agencies which we are so proud to work with and assist as we pursue our common goals.

Folks, this is the reality of what violent criminal apprehension looks like. This isn’t for speeding or expired plates. Remember, for every violent criminal out there, there’s a string of victims they’ve left behind. Victims we see, and talk with, and feel the pain they’ve been caused. Those that perpetrate those crimes need to be held accountable. Moreover, their potential future victims need to be protected.

None of what we post is an attempt to glamorize inherently dangerous actions. We invest significant resources into proper equipment and training for our Officers to perform these actions as safely as possible. This is what it looks like, in real time, in real life, with fugitives actively evading capture. God bless our Officers for being willing to do it.

Early Sunday morning this gentleman decided to flee from a few neighboring agencies and ultimately enter into GH where his stop-sticked vehicle finally crashed. He fled on foot and tried hiding in an unlocked vehicle. Too bad for him he didn’t know he was being watched the whole time. He was taken into custody.

When agencies work together and share resources the outcome is great. So, whether you start your nonsense in GH, or bring it into GH, it’s going to end the same way.
