Glade Community Historical Museum GCHS was breathed into existence in 2011, emerging from Glade Post Office into a museum of history of the area.

December nears and sunshine softens the gloom of our growing pandemic. Social distance and wearing a mask is still important. A two stage vaccine seems nearer as our healthcare and frontline workers tire after taking care of the ill for months. During the flu of 1918, people wore masks to be safe and show respect for others. Let's show our regard for others--and ourselves- by wearing masks.

The third GCHS meeting of 2019 will be July 28, 2019 at the Glade Community Historical Museum Post Office and Coal Gap School. Music Bingo and food will be available. Come and visit the museum!

The thirteenth annual Garfield School Reunion, including Cal Gap School, meets on May 31 at 5 pm at the Garfield School gymnasium for a cook out. And, the following day, June 1, 2019, lunch will be served at noon at the NEBCO Community Center. Reservations may be sent to Charlene Stockton (531-4124) or any of the committee members.

Mr. John Cross of Cornerstone Bank, Eureka Springs will be the guest speaker at the Glade Historical meeting on April 28 at 3 pm at Lost Bridge Community Room in Garfield. He will delight us with stories of By Golly, a character of our Ozark history. Come and learn and visit with friends. Refreshments will be served!
