Do you have concerns, recommendations, or feedback regarding NFPA 1030, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Prevention Program Positions? Now is the time to make your voice heard.

The Public Comment closing date is July 27, 2026. If there are issues you would like the Technical Committee to address, you must submit a Public Input or Public Comment through NFPA's online system.

To submit a Public Input or Public Comment:
Visit www.NFPA.org
Log in to your NFPA account.
Navigate to the Document Information Page for NFPA 1030.
Select "Submit Public Input Online" or "Submit Public Comment Online."

Complete and submit your proposal before the deadline.

Your participation helps shape the future of NFPA 1030, the standard that establishes the professional qualification requirements for personnel working in fire prevention, community risk reduction, code enforcement, public education, plans review, inspections, and related fire prevention program positions.

TFMA extends its deepest condolences to Chief Woodard’s family, his department, and the entire Mabank public safety family during this incredibly difficult time. We ask our members and partners across Texas to keep them in their thoughts and prayers, to support the Mabank Fire Department however possible, and to honor Chief Woodard’s memory by continuing the vital work of fire prevention and life safety he so faithfully advanced.

More tragic news for Texas law enforcement.

The Mabank Fire Chief, who also served as a Police Officer, was tragically struck and killed last night while directing traffic at a community rodeo.

TMPA joins the Mabank community, his family, loved ones, fellow officers, firefighters, and all who served beside him in mourning this heartbreaking loss.

Please keep his family and the entire Mabank public safety family in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, sir. Your service and sacrifice will not be forgotten. 💙
