Today marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month!

I look forward to taking this month to celebrate the traditions, history, and contributions of my heritage, as well as all the other diverse Hispanic cultures that make up our community 🎉

Throughout the month, Garland Libraries will be hosting several events to join in the celebration and pay respect to the many vibrant facets of Hispanic culture, from artist exhibits to regional coffee tastings!

Be sure to check the calendar on the Garland website to see what events are being offered at your local library during this month of cultural appreciation!

I am very excited to be invited to this private ceremony along with other TxDOT, state, and local officials to commemorate the finalization of the I-635 East project!

This long-standing project in progress since 2020 will help create more mobility and ease congestion along one of our city's most traveled areas.

This will definitely be a much needed improvement for our commuters. Here's to bettering our community, even one roadway at a time! 🎉
