Garnavillo Public Library – Library Director
The Garnavillo Public Library is seeking an engaged and community‑focused leader to serve as our next Library Director. This is an exciting opportunity to guide a vital community resource and support its continued growth, innovation, and impact.
The Director works closely with the Library Board and City leadership to ensure high‑quality service, relevant programming, diverse literacy opportunities, and compliance with state requirements. This position is a part‑time City of Garnavillo role, averaging 28-30 hours per week.
The Director oversees all daily library operations and is responsible for administration, staff leadership, financial management, programming, and community engagement. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Must obtain State Library of Iowa Director Endorsement within 2 years of hire. (support and resources provided at no cost)
Salary:
$17–$20 per hour, depending on qualifications. This position includes IPERS. Position and salary are subject to a six‑month review.
