Great night of training

We had the opportunity to put in some serious work using our extraction tools on a semi, running through real-world scenarios and sharpening our skills. There’s nothing better than hands-on training to keep everyone sharp and ready for whatever comes our way.

A huge thank you to IMT Transport for providing the semi for us to train with — we truly appreciate the support from our community partners who help make nights like this possible.

Last night we said thank you to six incredible firefighters whose dedication and sacrifice shaped our department and protected our community for decades.

With a combined 123 years of service, we honor the retirements of
Phil Dornbier, Tom Kral, Greg Leerar, Kris Hanson, Jim Thiele, and Pastor Scott.

Through long nights, tough calls, and countless moments of service, you answered the call every time. Your leadership, mentorship, and commitment leave a legacy that will be felt for years to come.

Thank you for your bravery, your selflessness, and your unwavering service.
Wishing you all a well-earned, happy, and healthy retirement.

We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported the GFD Soup Supper! Your generosity, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply showing up to share a meal with us, means the world.

Because of you, the night was a great success, full of good food, laughter, and the kind of community spirit that makes this town so special. Every bowl served and every dollar donated helps us continue to serve and protect our community.

What a fun day! The Garner Fire Department had a blast this past Saturday at Treats on the Street! It’s always great to see so many smiling faces, awesome costumes, and families out enjoying the day.
