The Purpose of this page is to highlight the awesome accomplishments and service of our local police departments. We live in an age where the media has demonized the police. So much so, that there are psychotic people that are out to execute them. There job is dangerous enough without this unwarranted negative attention. There are bad cops, like there are bad dentists, waiters and motor vehicle cl
erks; none, of which, deserve a death sentence. We are living in a time of increased lawlessness and lack of accountability. Yes, poor policing needs to be addressed. Retraining and dismissal are warranted in some cases. Criminal charges are appropriate if police violate the law. We, as citizens, must remember the burden that these brave men and women are under. Every interaction with a citizen is always subject to the worst case scenario. They represent the courts of our local governments, and, as such, have authority to detain you without an explanation. Most police encounters that have gone bad usually involve non-compliance by the person being detained. If an officer has violated your civil rights, you have CIVIL court to pursue damages. But, while you are being detained, you should expect to follow reasonable commands from the police..."step out of your car", or "please keep your hands in sight". If you fail to comply with a sobriety test with the police, you are presumed guilty, and subject to arrest. This is all spelled out in the motor vehicle handbook when you learned to drive. We are in an age where cameras are capturing police activity. Some bad police work has been memorialized. These instances need to be addressed according to the nature of their fallibility. Many, if not most police cars capture video automatically. Police training needs to catch up with whatever mistakes are documented. This, however, does not negate our responsibility to show our police honor, respect, cooperation, and an occasional THANK YOU! We should pray for not just our police, but our government leaders. God still does His work according to His word. Thank you for visiting this page, and you are invited to post positive police experiences on this page.
