North Carolina Fire & Rescue Administrative Professionals

North Carolina Fire & Rescue Administrative Professionals The North Carolina Fire & Rescue Administrative Professionals promotes success and personal enrichment. We meet quarterly, the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Members network with other administrative professionals who understand the challenges, demands and rewards of the fire & rescue profession. Welcome to the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Administrative Professionals page. We were founded in May of 2007 with six departments becoming Charter members. Each meeting brings new interest to the group with the vision to have a membership from all

across North Carolina. Our focus is on making connections with each other so that we may grow both professionally and personally. We recognize how critical our performance is to the fire rescue mission and are driven to discover ways we can assist and improve our staff support roles. The annual schedule is February, May, August, and November. Each meeting is hosted by a different department that has the opportunity to showcase their department’s uniqueness. The membership has developed a mission statement and logo that are shown on this site. The membership departments have doubled in size during the first year. We are very proud of our accomplishments and the support we receive from our Chiefs. Some key elements to our membership are:
Network with a group of professionals in our field
Development opportunities for professional improvement
Establish contacts at departments throughout the state
Grow in knowledge of the fire, EMS and rescue service

Please . . . . . . . come network with us !

🔥 Her Story

Angela brings the best of both worlds to the fire service, serving on the truck and in the office.

After nearly 10 years as a Family & Children’s Medicaid case worker, one training burn with her volunteer department changed everything. She stepped out in faith, left her county job, and entered the fire academy. She was older than most of her class (and even most instructors!) and crushed it.

Now, she continues to make an impact from every side of the job.

As administrative professionals, we often work behind the scenes... scheduling, supporting, organizing, and serving our departments in countless ways. But when one of our own is in need, we step forward together.

Kandi at Rocky Mount is still needing a kidney and it's up to us and her entire support network to get the word out there and expand the reach.

If you have ever considered becoming a living donor, or simply want to learn more about the process, this is an opportunity to make a life-changing impact. Even sharing this post expands the reach.

• Living kidney donation is often possible with minimal long-term impact to the donor
• The process begins with a simple screening
• You do not have to be a perfect match to be able to help

If you would like information about testing or how to support her, please use the QR codes in the picture below.

Let’s do what NCFRAP does best... show up for one another. Please share within your departments and networks. ❤️

This week, the NCFRAP crew gathered in Kernersville for our quarterly meeting.

Huge thanks to Chief Alderman for leading our Chief 101 session. And no, we’re not trying to take over our departments 😉
We’re here to better support our Chiefs, and that means understanding some of the chief-y things that come with the role.

A big shoutout as well to Melissa for hosting this quarter’s meeting and making everyone feel welcome.

Strong admins make strong departments and we’re proud to keep learning, growing, and supporting our leadership every step of the way. 💪🔥

Today, NCFRAP members convened in Concord for the 2025 Mid-Winter Chiefs Conference, featuring a presentation by Timeless Memories Photography on their photography services for fire departments and the importance of capturing historical moments. Several departments have used their photography services for professional member photos and legacy boards and have been very pleased!

Christy Burgess from The Phoenix Project 780 shared her personal story about her husband, Capt. Nathan Burgess, and his cancer journey, highlighting her efforts in promoting cancer awareness education initiatives for fire departments.

Our final presentation was given by Jeannie Moore, Fire Life Safety Educator, who provided valuable insights and advice for fire service administrators on supporting community outreach and fire life safety initiatives.

We look forward to our Spring meeting in April at Burlington Fire, NC!!
