Due to excessive standing water around the track, baseball fields, and surrounding areas, Play Day has been cancelled for this year. Students will attend school as normal and will still need to bring a sack lunch.

This was a difficult decision, but the current field conditions would limit setup time and could cause additional wear and tear to the grounds.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

We’re in the final stretch of the school year! Although the end is in sight, the students still have a lot of learning to do. Please help us finish the year strong by making sure your child comes to school well rested and on time each day. We truly appreciate your continued support!

Next week will be full of fun with Play Day on May 20th and the last day of school on May 21st with a 1:00 PM dismissal. We’re excited to celebrate a great year together!

There was another misprint on the flyer that was sent home with students. The date for PreK Play Day was misprinted, it will actually be happening on May 18th. I have updated that date on this digital copy!

Just a heads up, the physical copy of the newsletter that went home does have a misprint. In the newsletter it lists Play Day as both the 20th and 21st. Play Day is in fact on the 20th, Last Day of School is the 21st.

The 1st through 3rd graders at GES recently participated in a pinwheel coloring contest for Hope Unlimited. We’re excited to share our winners! Coleson Durand (3rd grade) earned 1st place, Olivia Goodlett (2nd grade) took 2nd place, and Olivia Shiels (3rd grade) placed 3rd. Congratulations to all of our talented students! 🎉 Each winner received a Sonic gift card and a free ice cream cone from DQ.

The PTO Walk-a-Thon is coming up THIS Friday. The kids will take part in the walk-a-thon during their specials times. If you have any cash or check donations that were collected you can turn those in on Friday.
