Social Media Public Comments Policy
The City Manager and Director of Community Development will monitor all public comments on City social media sites. Any Garnett social media site that allows for public comment includes, but is not limited to, the following provisions:
(1) All comments or links posted by a member of the public will be removed, if they are off-topic, obscene or pornographic, defa
matory, harassing, commercial, criminal, political, or that violate the intellectual property rights of others. (2) The City only monitors comments during business hours, and thus information conveyed after hours will not be received until the next business day. (3) All public comments are subject to disclosure as public records. No comment shall be removed from any city social media site that allows for public comment, unless that comment violates the provisions of the Public Comment Policy. Explore these website:
