We saw that counties in SW Arkansas had signs posting the burn ban throughout their area a few weeks ago. Several of those who were caught burning during the last ban were unaware that there was a burn ban. We hope these signs help get the word out. Thanks to Scott Gilbreth and Freedom Graphics for the signs.

NEW- Most of the state upgraded to a moderate wildfire danger. This will likely increase heading into the weekend.

Stay weather aware this evening!

Our weather is about to change rapidly on Sunday, let’s talk about it.

This forecast has a BUNCH of moving pieces, let me break it down.

-Warm start to Sunday, but it’s fools gold.

-Storms develop tomorrow afternoon and could be strong/severe. Damaging winds, tornadoes and hail will be possible.

Damaging winds are the biggest concern.

-Everyone is windy tomorrow, nobody escapes that. Gusts up to 40-50+ MPH will be possible (non-storm related).

-It will be COLD behind the front, shock to the system style. Wind chills in the teens/20’s by tomorrow night.

Single digit wind chills possible across north Arkansas Monday morning.

-Planters, we will have a freeze possible on both Monday AND Tuesday, you need to prep cold sensitive vegetation tomorrow.

-I’m not able to rule out snow flurries overnight Sunday and into Monday morning.

Not a big deal, non-factor to the forecast, but worth mentioning just because.

Timing graphic, severe outlook and more information in the comments below.
