Michael Strauss is an amazing, compassionate, highly experienced medical doctor and all of Putnam would better off with him as our County Coroner!

Even though it handles hundreds of cases, many voters likely know little about the Putnam County Coroner’s Office. Three coroners serve 4-year terms, but the office hasn’t been contested in 26 years, since William Stahl (who later retired after 32 years) defeated Dr. Cynthia Ligenza in 2000.

This year, three candidates are running for two positions. The incumbents are Dr. Michael Nesheiwat of Carmel and John Bourges of Mahopac; both ran unopposed in 2014, 2018 and 2022. (The third coroner, Wendy Erickson, was elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024.) https://buff.ly/BZrpxVs

The graphic on the left has been circulating online recently. The problem is – it’s certified B.S. (baloney statement)! Check out the facts on the right side. And always be sure to go straight to the NYS Board of Elections or your county board for accurate information about voting.

Brett Yarris has a genuine plan to share county revenues with the towns in Putnam. Not a frantic one time, last minute "too little, too late" campaign promise of an insufficient amount, like our current County Executive has just proposed.

Instead, Brett has a sustainable tax sharing plan to provide real relief for towns that will continue into the future, giving stability to town budgets. He wants Putnam to use money that we, as taxpayers, pay to the County, for our benefit, instead of continuing the current County Executive's policy of hoarding our money in Carmel.
