Last training of 2025 in the books for our cadets. They wrapped up the year by throwing ground ladders and working on proper ladder placement, raising, and lowering techniques. A solid way to close out a productive year of learning, teamwork, and skill-building. Proud of the dedication these cadets continue to show.

Our cadets wrapped up the year with our annual Christmas bowling outing, and it was a great time all around! Lots of laughs, friendly competition, and time spent together reflecting on a good, productive year. Weโ€™re proud of everything these cadets have accomplished and grateful for the teamwork, dedication, and growth theyโ€™ve shown throughout the year. At the annual departmental Christmas party, our Cadets were recognized for their 2025 accomplishments:

~Cadet Captain Ethan Delvalle and Cadet Lieutenant Conner Godfrey graduated with honors from the NC OSFM High School Firefighter Academy.

~Cadets Darren and Darrien McGee, First Place in the NC Association of Rescue and EMS Technical Rescue Challenge, Junior Division.

~Cadet Captain Ethan Delvalle and Cadet Chris Ormond, Third Place in the NC Association of Rescue and EMS Technical Rescue Challenge, Junior division.

~Cadet Secretary Gavin Ward and Cadet Noah Payne competed in the NC Association of Rescue and EMS junior BLS Competition.

Over the past couple of weeks our Cadets participated in Firefighter Safety and Survival class which included calling the mayday, Pittsburgh Drill, Denver Drill and Nance Drill. Firefighter Safety and Survival class is a training program designed to provide firefighters with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent injuries and fatalities on the fire ground and to perform self rescue or rescue their partner.

Our Cadets had a busy week, 3 days of search and rescue training then assisting with a live burn on Saturday. We even had a junior firefighter from Davie Volunteer Fire Dept. come train with us. They all did an amazing job!
